Here for a reason

I was initially overwhelmed with the number of diverse Chipsters gathered in the Residence Inn lobby. However, once we were seated at the Newseum, orientation made me realize how many experienced journalists are supporting the program and that none of us were chosen by chance. I have made a lot of connections in less than a day with people like Career Coach Colleen Fitzpatrick and especially John Quinn, co-founder of the CQS program, who I expect will continue to offer us guidance and support. Mostly I expect to learn more about myself and the other Chipsters and how the people behind the Chips Quinn Scholars can help me prepare for the newsroom as an intern.
