Pencil-checking means sleeping easy
Sue Stock, retail reporter at The News & Observer in Raleigh, N.C., had a significant impact on me. Accuracy is a high priority with each story I write. I've lost sleep at night wondering if I've missed something in a story after I've turned it in. I can see how the “pencil-check” method she taught can be a lifesaver, and I plan to use it on every story. With this fact-checking method, I'm sure I'll get more sleep after turning in my stories.
